Inspired by a trip to New York, a piece about glamour and gardens.... in plant pots, on balconies, growing up in sidewalks, by the roadside.. This piece is about beauty in unexpected places, plants and flowers surviving against the odds.. finding delight and beauty wherever greenery grows! The collaged papers were bought in Chelsea Market, in New York and the numbered card used is a vintage BINGO card. Thinking back to the time I painted it, it’s possibly also about my tendency to just pick a weed when I would be dressed up to go out.. and then suddenly end up replanting a pot plant or digging a border in my heels… Heres to glamour in the garden and inappropriate footwear!
