The Chiltern Centre, A very worthwhile local charity offering:
Respite Care
Respite care is a short term, temporary relief to parents which enables them to recharge their batteries, and/or focus on their other family members for a short while or do something that the rest of us take for granted.
It also supports young people in a stimulating, safe and nurturing home-from-home environment while giving carers much needed respite from day-to-day responsibilities.
In addition The Chiltern Centre promotes choice, positive self-image and individual identity.
They aim to give young people the chance to learn social and life skills, to integrate within the community, improve their self-esteem and help them lead more independent lives.
The Chiltern Centre works in partnership with Pathways at Henley College, Abingdon College, Bishopswood School and Chiltern Edge, and many other educational organisations connected with young adults in their care.
