This original painting of British grown strawberries was created on a wonderful hot summers day in my garden, Henley on Thames. The spiral patterns on my garden bench and the plants growing behind can be seen in the background as well as the curve of my cast iron garden table.
The fruit, grown in the UK, is fresh and vibrant, shades of pinks and orange with the seeds bright and sparkly. I enjoyed the fresh smell of strawberries ’how they used to smell’ all the time I was painting it! ( Is it only me with that nostalgic memory?!)
The text surrounding the image is methods of growing strawberries with a few definitions of sunshine and fruit. A happy memory of a lovely summers day!
Every room should have a touch of red in it! A tempting bowl of fresh red fruit could be just the answer!
